Methodology

How it works

The percentage is calculated by dividing the marks you obtained by the total marks available and multiplying the result by one hundred. If you scored 880 out of 1100, that is 880 divided by 1100, which gives 0.8, multiplied by 100 for a final figure of 80 percent. No weighting is applied because board examinations already carry equal weight across the total.

That percentage is then matched against the standard grade bands. The bands are fixed thresholds rather than a curve, which means your grade depends only on your own marks and not on how other candidates performed. Practical marks and any grace marks awarded by the board are already included in the obtained total printed on your result card, so no further adjustment is needed.
