How This Comparison Works

Raw salary numbers do not tell the full story. A higher salary in a more expensive city can leave you with less real purchasing power than a lower salary somewhere cheaper. Bonuses, benefits, and the tax taken from gross pay also change what an offer is actually worth each month.

This tool first calculates your accurate take-home pay using current FY 2026-27 tax slabs. It then adds the monthly equivalent of your annual bonus and other benefits before adjusting for the cost-of-living difference between cities, so you can compare offers on a level footing.

Step-by-step

How to use this calculator

  1. 1Give each offer an optional company or role name so the results are easy to identify.
  2. 2Choose the city and enter the gross monthly salary for each offer.
  3. 3Add any annual bonus and estimate the monthly cash value of benefits that are not already included in salary.
  4. 4Mark whether the employer contributes to a Provident Fund, and add a third offer if you need it.
  5. 5Select Compare Offers to see take-home pay, total package value, purchasing power, and the clearest financial difference.

What This Tool Does Not Account For

The cost-of-living adjusted result is a useful financial comparison, but it cannot capture every part of a career decision. Consider the factors below alongside the numbers before accepting an offer.

Beyond the numbers

Factors to weigh before you decide

  • Career growth trajectory and learning opportunities
  • Job security and company stability
  • Commute time and its cost in hours, not rupees
  • Non-cash benefits like flexible hours or remote work
  • Long-term factors like promotion speed or industry reputation

Common questions about the Job Offer Comparison Tool.

According to Numbeo's 2026 cost-of-living index, Islamabad actually has the highest cost of living among major Pakistani cities, running roughly 16% above Lahore and Karachi, which are tied. This surprises many people since Karachi is the largest city, but Islamabad's rent, food, and services consistently price higher in current data.
