How it works

GPA is the weighted average of your grade points, with each course weighted by its credit hours.

GPA = Σ (credit_hours × grade_points) / Σ (credit_hours)

Your input: Σ points  = 33.00
            Σ credits = 9
            GPA       = 3.67

Grade points (4.0 scale): A/A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, F = 0.

Overview

What is the GPA Calculator?

The GPA Calculator computes your semester GPA and cumulative CGPA on the standard 4.0 scale used by most Pakistani universities including HEC-affiliated institutions. Enter each course's grade and credit hours and get an instant result.

It is built for university students who want to track academic progress, plan ahead for scholarships or honours, and figure out the grades they need this semester to reach a target CGPA.

Step-by-step

How to use this calculator

  1. 1Add a row for each course you took this semester.
  2. 2Enter the grade or grade points earned (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on).
  3. 3Enter the credit hours for each course (usually 1 to 4).
  4. 4Click Calculate to see your semester GPA.
  5. 5For CGPA, add your previous CGPA and total credit hours completed.
Methodology

How it works

GPA is a weighted average. Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours to get quality points. Sum the quality points and divide by total credit hours: GPA = Σ(grade × credits) ÷ Σ(credits).

CGPA extends this across all semesters. The calculator weights every course by its credit hours, so a 4-credit-hour course influences your CGPA twice as much as a 2-credit-hour course.

Different universities use slightly different grade-to-point mappings; this calculator uses the most common HEC-style 4.0 scale.
